Backyard Minis
My back yard not yours, sorry!
Full sessions can be pricey and hard for little ones. One of the goals of the backyard minis is to document your family, how you play, and any special interest while being a small enough chunk of time for your kiddo. When play is at the center of the photos and the session is only twenty minuets it allows for kids to look forward to their yearly family photos. My hope is to get to see your family once or maybe even twice a year.
For years now I've been wanting to find a way where I could offer mini sessions year round instead of one or two days a year. My family and I recently moved to a beautiful home in Vineland, NJ that sits on one acre of property which includes a large field followed by some shallow woods. The length of our backyard is about the length of a soccer field so there's a ton of space to run and get creative. My hope is to one day have a beautiful green house studio in the back!
I'd really love to get creative in my own back yard. I want people to bring things that feel like them. If your kid is into music, bring their drums. If your family has horses PLEASE bring them. If your senior is proud of their car and wants portraits with it I'm so in. If you want to keep it simple and come on over and play tag I'd be stoked. These sessions are meant to be honest and low stress.
These minis will lean more into a documentary style but will still be somewhat directed. I want your photos to feel true to who you are and who your family is. These sessions are meant to be messy, whether that's with paint, mud or watermelon. The goal is to just enjoy life's simple pleasure, each other. There is no yelling at your kid to smiles at the camera or worrying about wrinkles in dresses. We aren't looking for perfection we're looking for joy.
If your little on is feeling shy at first that's totally fine. We will start slow and from a distance if that's what they need. Whatever story is spelled out during your time here is what I'll capture. Even if its your kid curled up in your arms because they're nervous. It actually makes for quiet the cute memory.
We of course can book a full 1 hour session at my home as well but minis will strictly be at my house only. I will offer seasonal setups on specific dates. Booking can be done via phone call up until the day before your session although there are no guarantees.
